Kyalami Schools – 2022 KSG Heritage Day Art Festival

Kyalami Art Festival and Auction

Kyalami Corner teams up with the 3 campuses of The Kyalami Schools Group to showcase a vast display of art produced by the young, talented students attending the preparatory and college schools.

KYALAMI – Kyalami Corner will be hosting an exhibition showcasing the art created by learners from Kyalami Schools on Wednesday 21 September. A Mandela handprint piece, which will appeal to collectors, and rhino art piece from the prior years’ art festivals will be available for auction.

These 2 pieces of art will be sold online, and the VR version will be available in the same format as an NFT where patrons can make donations towards owning part of the respective VR piece. QR codes linked to the art pieces will enable interested buyers to purchase the artworks of their choice. The art will be displayed digitally along with a Minecraft Art Museum, which will also showcase art from previous years. Part of the Minecraft expo will also include a live VR art experience and 3D printing.  The art will be on display for this week at Kyalami Corner.

This year’s theme for the exhibition is “Proteas & Ndebele Designs” in line with Heritage Day 2022. In alliance with the Paws R Us charity organisation, Kyalami Corner will also be collecting pet food donations towards this drive. Look out for the various drop off boxes throughout the centre.

The school’s art exhibition begins on the 21st September to the 25th September between 9am to 6pm at Kyalami Corner. We will also be hosting the school’s musical art display which includes live performances by the Beaulieu Prep choir and band, Beaulieu strings ensemble and the Beaulieu college Junior and Senior bands between 4:30pm and 6:30pm in the fountain area on the 22nd September.  The Beaulieu Prep and Kyalami Prep’s marimba bands will entertain guests on the 24th September between 9am and 10:30am.

We would like to take this opportunity to invite the community, to come out and enjoy the many artistic displays from the amazingly talented children attending the various KSG schools in the area.
