Eyethu Hout Bay Skate Park Project hosts end of year party for Skate Stars

The Eyethu Skate Park Organisation, together with Rotary Hout bay, will be hosting a Christmas party and end of year party to celebrate the talent of the young skaters who participate in the Saturday Skate Clinics.

On Saturday the 2nd of December, 60-80 kids from all around Hout Bay will join together to celebrate a year of building communities and relationships. The Eyethu Skatepark Organisation believes that by providing a shared recreational space, the youth and community of Hout Bay can overcome these differences by sharing a common passion. The skatepark will become a place where the community can be exposed to positive role models; it will be a space where the differences in racial cultural and socio-economic backgrounds simply don't matter.

Skaters can win cash and other great prizes in a skate competition, for anyone who wishes to participate, that will be judged by the three skate leaders that dedicate their weekends to upskilling and mentoring the skate clinic kids.

There will also be a range of obstacles and ramps for all to enjoy if you’re not keen on competing.

Come enjoy a day out with your family, the Eyethu Children and Project Team and meet our skating Santa who will be showing us his tricks!

The Eyethu Skate Park Organisation is managed by the community, for the community, and so all are welcome, Rotary will be hosting a braai and there will be lots of treats and fun to go around.

Would you like to help make our little Christmas party a success for our little skate stars? Soft drinks, fresh fruit, sweet surprises for the little Skate Stars and any unwanted skate gear or clothes will be so appreciated!

The event will start from 11:00 at the Baviaanskloof Road Circle parking area, Hout bay. Contact Vicki Scheffel for more info 082 337 7157 or Visit our site to learn more about our project
