Grande Provence announces festive season signature menus

Grande Provence Heritage Wine Estate in Franschhoek, in conjunction with Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst, recent AMEX award winner, has announced his festive season signature menus that will reflect the season as well as pay homage to many traditional festive favourites.

Christmas Eve Dinner - Monday, 24 December, presents guests with the award winning Estate wines upon arrival in 'The Angels Garden' at 18h00 followed by a six course menu in 'The Restaurant'.  The six course menu options includes – Amuse bouche – turkey rillettes with balsamic toast and caper berry compote, pan-seared Canadian king scallop, wild mushroom ragout served with confit garlic and fennel foam or crispy soft shell crab, pan-fried sesame sushi cake, duo of roast red pepper puree and aioli served with soy and wasabi pearls are among some of the decadent dishes.  For dessert a tribute to apple crumble served with vanilla crème patisserie, toasted almond flakes, cinnamon-poached apple served with brandy and allspice reduction or white chocolate and hazelnut bavarois, salted caramel, Christmas pudding crumble. Costs R495.00 per person excluding beverages, other than complimentary arrival drinks.

Christmas Day Lunch - Tuesday 25 December, Estate wines served on arrival in the shade of 'The Angels Garden' at 12h00 with live musical entertainment creating a festive ambiance. At 12h30, the above menu will be served at 'The Restaurant' which promises to provide a superb festive repast for family and friends. Costs R690 per person excluding beverages, other than complimentary arrival drinks.

Christmas Day Dinner presents guests with the award winning Estate wines on arrival at 18h00 to be served in The Angels Garden. At 19h00, guests will enjoy this six course menu paired with fine wines from the Estate's signature wine collection. Costs R495.00 per person excluding beverages, other than the complimentary arrival drinks.

Celebrate the arrival of 2013 in true Grande Provence style with an elaborate seven-course New Year's Eve dinner with a welcome drink - chilled sparkling wine and oysters served on arrival at 20h15 in The Angels Garden. At 21h00, guests will dine on the extensive seven course menu with musical entertainment throughout the evening. A complimentary glass of chilled sparkling wine is available to ring in the New Year as the countdown begins. Indulgent menu options include chilled and smoked beetroot soup served with duo of coconut cream and paprika reduction or saffron-spiced shellfish broth served with Gordon's Bay clams, dried micro shrimps are amongst the delectable dishes available. Cost R790.00 per person excluding beverages, with the exception of the complimentary arrival/countdown sparkling wine. Dancing continues after countdown and the bar service will be available.
