5-star Hotel Izulu, Ballito’s best loved eco boutique hotel, has enhanced its existing eco-initiatives incorporated throughout the Hotel by introducing new energy monitoring procedures, using recycled paper for all its stationary as well as implementing eco-friendly laundry and cleaning products.
All the paper used throughout the Hotels stationary such as welcome notes and turn down cards that offer eco tips to guests are all now on recycled paper. The Hotel has also put online procedures in place to monitor the energy utilisation on a daily basis by means of a wireless remote meter. Eco-friendly laundry detergents and cleaning products have also been introduced to move away from the harsh chemicals generally used in the hospitality industry. By doing so, Hotel Izulu lessens the amount of chemicals going into the water system.
Comments Managing Director, Grant Pringle: “Since we first implemented our green procedures throughout the Hotel in 2009, we’ve continuously strived to do more and more over time to ensure that we minimise our carbon footprint as much as is feasibly possible and offer guests an eco alternative while maintaining our promise of 5-star comfort.”
These new initiatives enhance the Hotel’s existing eco initiatives which include using organic produce in Gigi’s Brasserie, the organic herb and vegetable garden, energy efficient light bulbs, eco-friendly showerheads installed in all the bathrooms as well as using natural and organic products in the award-winning Impilo Spa.
