Fax to e-mail should no longer be a premium rated service…

Submitted by: Ruaan Nel

What the public should know about the premium rated old generation fax to e-mail (086)

-          This is still a free service for the receiver of the fax, but the sender pays 3 times the cost of a normal fax call to send to these premium rated 086 numbers

-          A large number of people use fax to e-mail as a scanning facility by faxing themselves to receive a document in an e-mail (PDF) format. The company incurs the cost of users faxing themselves on this premium rated numbers.

-          086 numbers expire if not used within three months. The number is then issued to another e-mail user and this could be a security risk if these numbers were given to clients and suppliers.

-          Registering for a free fax to e-mail number on the internet is a large security risk due to the fact that a copy of every fax is being kept on the fax server that does the fax to e-mail conversion, and the user does not know where this server is or who has access to this server

New generation fax to email, brought to you by VIRTUAL FAX

-          This is also a free fax to email service, but not a premium rated service.

-          A 087 fax number or any geographical number can be provided, depending on the need of the client.

-          Sending a fax to a new generation fax to e-mail number will cost the same as sending a fax to a normal landline.

-          All faxes received are archived for 5 years, and can be retrieved immediately on a secure website by a client.

-          New generation fax to e-mail numbers never expires, and can be transferred to a new user within the company.

-          A company can change the normal landline fax number into fax to e-mail without changing the landline number.
