Hi-Tec, one of South Africa’s leading outdoor footwear, apparel, and accessories retailers have announced that it’s the official presenting sponsor of the Magoebas Ultra Trail. The Magoebas Ultra Trail is a premium trail running event hosted in the magical Magoebaskloof Valley in Limpopo, South Africa. The current flagship event of the Magoebas Forest Marathon will be taking place from 18 - 19 March 2023.

The partnership comes a year ahead of Hi-Tec’s 50th year anniversary which will be next year in 2024. Hi-Tec’s main mission is to enable people to get outside and experience the natural world by providing top quality outdoor apparel, and this is a perfect fit with the Magoebas Ultra as they share the same vision.

The Magoebas race organiser, Handre Hay feels very privileged and proud about the partnership. The Magoebaskloof Ultra Trail Run consists of 4 races through the magical forests of Magoebaskloof. Runners can choose between the 50KM, 34KM, 20KM or 10KM distance races according to their ability and goals. Routes are predominantly run on exhilarating single track through indigenous forests and man-made plantations. The route also passes beautiful waterfalls and pristine mountain streams. All 4 races of the Magoebaskloof Forest Marathon are trail running at its best!

The races will run on SAFCOL property and on SAFCOL trails. The routes traverse some of the most beautiful forests that South Africa has to offer and it is truly unique to experience these pristine trails in a race format.

Participants will have the opportunity to purchase Hi-Tec products on the day of the race as well as stand a chance of winning some exciting Hi-Tec prizes. Hi-Tec will also ensure that runners remain hydrated and refreshed with water stations spread throughout the route.

Hi-Tec recently opened its new store in Limpopo, expanding its offering to nature lovers in the Limpopo province. The brand decided to launch this new store due to the increased demand for quality outdoor footwear and apparel across the Polokwane customer base and the opportunity to grow the brand in the community.

Entries to the 2023 Magoebas Trail Marathon have sold out. “We are delighted that so many runners have committed to embarking on the journey of this year’s race” concluded Hay.
