Converse ULT.X 2023 Comes To V&A Waterfront

Date: 3 - 4 March 2023

Location/Venue: Battery Park, V&A Waterfront

Converse Ultimate X 2023 is back in Cape Town's V&A Waterfront, where it all kicked off in 2008. V&A's Battery Park hosts Africa's biggest action sports event this weekend. We're coming in hot with everything you love about BMX and Skate. Past and future champions, fast action, fat whips and more.

It's all about that old school. This year, the event will feature brand activations, live performances, and giveaways. In addition to Ultimate X, fans can enjoy the BMX and Skate African champs, BMX Park and Skate Plaza formats, and female divisions across skateboarding events.

Live artist performances by Jack Parow, DJ Ready D, and DJ Speedsta, plus tons of giveaways.

Catch the top international names in the game alongside our exceptional local talent.

In BMX, we have local crew Malcolm Peters (Gordons Bay), Dylan van Belkum (Benoni) and Vin Leygonie from Krugersdorp.

The international contingent includes Pat Casey (USA), Mike Varga (Canada), William Spedding (Australia), Kaden Stone (USA), and Quentin Morien from France, amongst others, as well as defending champ Kevin Paraza from the USA.

"A win is just a bonus, I'll take this one home, and I'll cherish it forever," said Kevin Peraza on his 2022 victory. "I'll come back next year, and every year this event happens!"

In Mens Skate, we have defending champion Khule Ngubane (DBN), Devandre Galant (CT), Puddy Zwennis (PTA), Kyle Kheswa (JHB), Marci Rodriques (CT), Kanya Spani (JHB), Jamie De Villiers (DBN), and Brandon Valjalo from JHB.

The Women's Skate contingent comprises Boipelo Awuah (KBY), Abi Claassen (CT), Natalie Bramley (KBY), Bronwyn Shaw (CT), Lindi Jane (JHB), Tamaryn Commins (PE), Robyn Wolstenholme (CT), Janine Louw (CT), Marie Cavanna (CT), Lolo Ndlovu (CT), and Kelly Murray from JHB.
