The Pretoria-based Reddford House school - Reddford House The Hills - which is part of theInspired Education Group, proudly congratulates their Class of 2022 on achieving a 100% pass rate and 38 distinctions in the demanding International Examinations Board (IEB) national senior certificate exams. Reddford House The Hills is located on a private estate in Garsfontein.

Of particular note are six students who achieved A and B aggregates, with two students - Aphiwe Hlatshwayo and Lesego Kock - achieving five distinctions each. Three students - Aphiwe Hlatshwayo, Ifeoluwa Ogundana and Vuyokazi Mdani - achieved a ranking in the Top 5% of all IEB candidates nationally for specific subjects. In the case of Aphiwe Hlatshwayo this considerable recognition was achieved in three subjects.

Grant Ferreira, Head of Reddford House The Hills, congratulates the Class of 2022, saying,  “As this group of students worked towards this victory, they behaved with such humility, grace and kindness. We appreciate how they always shared their success and experiences with the school.  Their love for their community is one of the reasons this group will rise to the top.”

Top achiever Aphiwe Hlatshwayo is a remarkable young woman whose emotional intelligence is evident in her explanation of her dreams for the future. She says, “My aspiration in life would be to be happy. I truly want to find happiness without attaching it to a person, a place or an object. I aspire to be happy with myself and my achievements and bring happiness to the people around me. I aim to live, love, grow and have fun. I aim to enjoy my life and make the best out of it. My primary goal for the future is financial freedom and security and I'm looking forward to being the woman I've always dreamed of becoming.”

She continues, “I'm interested in learning new things, overcoming challenges, learning more about the human body and human behaviour, helping people and  simply connecting with people. This may come as a surprise but the thing that sparks my interest the most is performance and storytelling. I believe that theatre could teach, make aware and bring joy through entertainment. It sparked my interest as, through different stories, it has the power to change lives and heal many.”

Commenting on her strengths, this inspirational future leader says, “I never let my successes go to my head and I also don't let my failures get to my heart. The strengths that I value the most are my ambition and my drive. Once I set my heart and mind on something, I'll do everything possible to achieve it. I know what I want and even if I don't know how I'll get it, I know that I will.”

Dr Ronel Burger, Managing Director of Reddford House, commended the Class of 2022 for overcoming the negative influence that Covid had on their group specifically. She recognised the students, not only for their academic results but for the enthusiastic, dynamic yet humble young people that they have become. “I know that they are ready to face any challenges that life may bring.”
