MathsGee Integrates OpenAI to Enhance User Experience and Drive Exponential Growth

Submitted by: Edzai

MathsGee, a leading online learning platform serving millions of students globally, has announced the integration of an AI bot to answer questions on its platform. This innovative move is aimed at improving the value proposition for users in an AI-obsessed context.

MathsGee has identified key challenges faced by its users. These include the difficulty in writing maths online using rendering tools like Latex and Mathjax, and the limitation of most chatbots and Language Model (LLM) interfaces to only accept text as input.

To address these issues, MathsGee has developed a unique solution that allows users to ask questions using either text or an image. This innovative approach employs Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to transform image text into latex. The latex output is then used as input into OpenAI's API, providing instant answers to users' questions.

This groundbreaking intervention has resulted in exponential user growth and an increase in the platform's Net Promoter Score (NPS), demonstrating its ability to serve users in ways that other platforms cannot.

Speaking at a recent event at the University of Johannesburg, MathsGee founder Edzai Zvobwo emphasized the importance of staying abreast with technological developments, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.

"Africa cannot afford to be slow and wait for adoption as consumers as has happened in previous technology iterations," said Zvobwo. "AI is changing the way we interact with each other and with information. It's crucial that we embrace these advancements to ensure we're not left behind."

The integration of OpenAI into the MathsGee platform is a significant step towards this goal, offering users an enhanced learning experience and setting a new standard in online education.
