Online Course to Empower South Africans with Personal Safety and Security Strategies

Submitted by: Susann Deysel

Johannesburg - Crime is an unfortunate reality for many South Africans, with incidents of mugging, hijacking, robbery, and assault becoming all too common. In response, SSC Legacy has developed an online course to empower individuals and teach them real strategies to stay safe.

The Personal Safety & Security + Hijack Prevention & Survival Online Course (www.ssclegacy.com/product/personal-safety-security-online-course) has been written by a group of experts with 70+ years of combined experience in the security industry. Francois Marais, Hayley Makhanya, and Howard Griffiths have designed this course specifically for the South African context, addressing specific risks and threats that individuals face on a daily basis.

Participants will learn about situational awareness, principles of survival, and how to avoid becoming a victim of crime. Specific areas of focus include rape avoidance and survival, kidnapping and abduction, vehicle hijacking avoidance and survival, as well as tips for securing homes and offices.

This course is not only beneficial for personal safety and security but also helps support Child Survivors of Crime (CSOC). By enrolling in this course, participants are directly contributing to a worthy cause.

Hayley Makhanya, one of the course's developers, says, "We want you to feel empowered and learn practical strategies to stay safe. Relying on others in law enforcement or private security companies is not enough. Taking personal responsibility for your safety and security is essential."
