Submitted by: MyPressportal TeamThe Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in Gauteng is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Mr Thabo Masebe, the Acting Director-General in the Office of the Gauteng Premier.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the public service, Mr Masebe was an exemplary public servant, who led with dedication and a deep commitment to serving the people. Prior to joining the Gauteng Government, he served in the Presidency, as Spokesperson to the former Deputy President, Kgalema Motlanthe.
Mr Masebe had a refreshing candour about him and was always generous in sharing his wealth of knowledge about government communications. He remained ever humble and never took sides: he was always on the side of what was right for the people. He truly embodied the ‘batho pele’ principles. His legacy is one of diligent professionalism, ethical conduct, and brilliant communication skills, as he always sought to minimise the information gaps between the executive and the people.
The Gauteng provincial government and citizens of the province have been dealt a major blow with the passing of this good and faithful servant.
The IFP extends its deepest condolences to Mr Masebe's family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult period. May they be comforted in knowing that his was a life well-lived and invested in making a meaningful impact on the lives of his fellow South Africans. He will be forever missed, but his formidable legacy will remain.
May his soul rest in perfect peace and his contribution to society long outlive him.
