Charnel Hattingh, group head of marketing & communication of Fidelity ADT says, “Perimeter security and access control remains the first and most powerful line of defence. “We urge all homeowners to consider installing outdoor detection devices and perimeter security to reduce the chances of criminals reaching your property and gaining access to your home. It needs to be seen as an investment not only in your assets but in your family too.”

Here are some security essentials to remember:

  • Ensure your arm your alarm not only when you leave home/premises but also when you are at home.
  • Windows should be secured with beams or strong burglar-proofing and doors should be secured with security gates.
  • Secure your perimeter at all times!
  • Report anything suspicious to your security or SAPS immediately.

”Fidelity ADT continues to work closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of all residents in Rustenburg,’’ concludes Hattingh.
