Art forum is the business in 2012

Submitted by: Jennifer

StateoftheArt.co.za, the online artists’ forum founded by Jennifer Reynolds, is painting a bright future.

The business forms partnerships with corporations including banks and law firms in order to create platforms for it's artists' work – and offers a full range of services to businesses, individuals and the design community, including the sourcing of art for offices. It also provides an online platform for selected artists to sell their work.

It has recently launched Collectors Resale, a service created to meet the needs of collectors of emerging South African art wishing to divest works from their personal collections.

Reynolds, former EMEA Business Development Manager of Enterprise Alliance Partnerships for Thomson Reuters, said: ‘We have turned a profit and are keeping up the momentum.

‘Last year we completed the artwork refubishment of Pricewaterhouse Coopers offices at Century City, and we have several new projects in the pipeline for 2012’

StateoftheART Gallery

Established in 2010 and a pioneer in the online art market in South Africa, StateoftheART re-imagines the brick-and-mortar art gallery experience for the digital age, differentiating itself through full transparency and accessibility. Our pricing structure is clear and straightforward with the majority of the proceeds from a sale being returned to the artist who created the work. Importantly, our pricing is very competitive, leaving no room to incentivise buyers with discounts. The StateoftheART Gallery Award, a not-for-profit initiative, was founded by the gallery in 2018 to promote artists who have yet to establish a profile on the contemporary South African art scene - so when you buy art from StateoftheART you’re directly supporting artists.
