Amy Rose, a classical crossover singer has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Jumpstarter South Africa in order to make her dreams of an international music career a reality. Amy Rose started singing before she could walk. She was born 3 months prematurely. Thus, she only learnt to walk at the age of four after undergoing various operations on her feet and simply persevering with the help of her mom, Sharon and day mother who to this day is only known as “ouma.” About her early arrival into the world, Amy says: “The tiny little person that I was (1.1Kg), I was obviously very impatient to come and achieve my life purpose. That is taking my talent around the world and sharing it with others!”

The stage has always fascinated Amy, just as much as music. The sight of a piano bought a twinkle to her eye. But singing has always been her greatest love. From the age of 3, Amy dreamed of becoming the next Celine Dion and could hit all the big notes that Celine Dion could. When She was 9, she decided that she would make a terrible pop-star and kissed her dreams of a music career goodbye. A few years later, she found her place in the music world. She discovered the art of opera and was thrilled that she could sing in this particular style.

Amy Rose has been nurturing her talent for 17 years now. 9 of those years were dedicated to the operatic style of singing. It all began with the many inspirations that she has had along the way. Namely: Celine Dion, Maria Callas, Edith Piaf, Renata Tebaldi, Katherine Jenkins and Audrey Hepburn. She has since matriculated at The National School of the Arts in 2015 where she studied music and gained some insight into theatre and what brings it all together.

In October 2014, Amy Rose took part in a talent showcase hosted by Just You Model And Artist Management and was scouted by Kim Meyers  of Applause Rising Talent International to go and sing for various agents, casting directors, record companies and the New York Film Academy in June 2015 in Orlando Florida, USA. However, Amy was writing her matric that year and decided to go in July 2016 instead. Amy Rose is in need of funding. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that could change her life forever. In her own words, Amy Rose says: “I would love to represent South Africa this coming July at The Applause Rising Talent Showcase in Orlando Florida, USA. Music has made such a difference in my life and I would love to spread the beauty that music brings with the world. I firmly believe that music brings people together.”
