iKasi Creative Media celebrates National Entrepreneur’s Day

Entrepreneurs are honoured on 15 November, National Entrepreneurs’ Day; for taking huge risks and for building successful and sustainable businesses. These innovative minds have dreamed up radical inventions and ideas that has shaped the way we live today and the way our future is shaped. iKasi Creative Media, are one of these organisations who have thought of ‘out of the box’ solutions to address unemployment especially in rural towns where opportunities are limited.

They are celebrating National Entrepreneurs Day with a networking event at their offices at The Bridge, 302 Durban Rd, Bellville, Cape Town on 15 November from 11:00 – 13:00. They have a remarkable line-up of speakers that will be speaking to the theme; Learning from industry experts in 2022 to recalibrate entrepreneurs for 2023.

Abraham Oliver is the Director at the Centre for Entrepreneurship, University of the Western Cape. The essence of the Centre is to develop the next generation of entrepreneurial employers and job creators who will contribute towards addressing unemployment and venture creation to revitalize township economies.

Margaux Gaigher, Director, Uluma HR consults on all Human Resources matters specifically to assist and support the employer in ensuring the ‘paper trail’ is adequate and the employer complies with all current labour legislation. They support management to ensure employees are effectively lead, managed, coached, mentored and inspired in order to work and interact with internal and external customers in excellence.

Odwa Mqomboti, is an entrepreneur within the fashion, retail industry and is also a public speaker. He is the owner of HOM International (Pty) Ltd, Mqomboti Africa and Mstudio. He will be sharing his lessons within the retail fashion industry and on finances. 

Rucien Petersen, founded Spottmedia in 2017 based on research as he found that business owners were challenged in time, knowledge, and skills to implement effective marketing strategies and tactics. He has over 13 years of marketing experience within the traditional and digital sectors combined with a Diploma, Degree, and Honours in marketing management.

iKasi Creative remains true to their mission - to present skills training and development programmes in rural communities for the film and media industry that ends in employment, job creation and entrepreneurial development.

iKasi Creative has a holistic approach to their business, which focuses on personal development and entrepreneurship as the keys to job readiness. There are several sustainable outcomes for all participants and especially those that graduate from the learnership and incubator.
