OUMA Gives Celebrities and Media New Reasons to Dip ‘n Ouma with Launch of Premium and Bite Size Variants

Since 1939, South Africans have indulged in the timeless habit of dipping an OUMA Rusk into a deliciously hot beverage. It was precisely this tradition that was celebrated on May 11th, when celebrities including actresses, Lorcia Cooper, Miranda Ntshangase and Sophie Ndaba, as well as the media came together for the launch of OUMA’s Premium and Mini Bite Size Rusks at Marion on Nicole in Sandton. The two new rusk ranges are set to change the way we have enjoyed OUMA Rusks in the past, but one thing will always remain the same; the home style goodness of OUMA’s Rusks that we have continued to enjoy for decades.

Acclaimed actress, master of ceremonies for the launch and self-confessed lover of OUMA Rusks, Lillian Dube says, “My day is never the same if I haven’t tasted the wholesome flavour of an OUMA rusk dipped in my first coffee of the morning. For this reason I am truly delighted about the introduction of OUMA’s Premium and Mini Bite Size Rusks. The Premium version is a luxurious take on the original and will be perfect for coffee dates with my family and friends, while the smaller Mini Bite Size option is sure to keep me going whether I am on set for long hours or simply running my daily errands.”

“Indeed, the new Premium Rusks can only be described as pure goodness that simply crunch or dissolve in the mouth, depending on your dipping habits. Available in Buttermilk & Muesli, Buttermilk & Bran, as well as Buttermilk & Aniseed, this luxurious range of rusks has a distinctly homemade flavour made with only the freshest farm ingredients,” explains brand manager for OUMA Rusks, Lonwabo Thinta.

“The Mini Bite Size Rusks, on the other hand, offer a nifty snack that is the ultimate teatime nibble, suitable for in-between meals. As a scrumptious one-bite, one-dip-delight, OUMA Mini Bite Size Rusks are available in the much-loved Buttermilk and Muesli flavours. Packed in 200g boxes, these mini-bites can be stashed in your office desk drawer, or even your handbag, for mid-work day munching or anytime snacking,” adds Thinta.

It seems that once again OUMA Rusks has whipped up two winning new recipes, using only the freshest of farm ingredients, which will soon become firm favourites. The media along with the celebrities in attendance at the launch including musician, Tumi Masemolo and actress, Thandy Matlaila, certainly all agreed that OUMA continues to offer South Africans new and excellent reasons to #DipnOUMA.

The new OUMA Premium Rusks and OUMA Mini Bite Size Rusks are available nationwide, retailing at approximately R47.99 and R16.99 respectively.

ABOUT OUMA RUSKS
The OUMA legend lives on. The story of OUMA rusks started in 1939 in the small North-Eastern Cape town of Molteno. The great depression spurred OUMA Greyvensteyn and her friends to find ways of helping their community. OUMA Greyvensteyn started by baking a batch of rusks using her trusted family recipe. After selling these delicious treats to farming families in the community, orders soon started pouring in and a much loved, iconic South African brand was born. Today, OUMA Greyvensteyn is still South Africa’s most famous rusk baker. The OUMA bakery runs around the clock to ensure that South Africans will always be able to “Dip ‘n OUMA”.
