Campaigning for Cancer calls for local participation in Lymphoma Coalition's Global Patient Survey 2024

Submitted by: Marc Ashton

[Johannesburg, March 25, 2024]- Campaigning for Cancer, a leading advocate of cancer awareness and support in South Africa, encourages individuals to take part in the Lymphoma Coalition Global Patient Survey (GPS) 2024. The survey seeks to provide crucial information regarding the encounters of patients and those caregivers impacted by lymphoma and Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL), additionally referred to as lymphoproliferative diseases. Countries that can get more than 100 responses will qualify for a country specific report.

Campaigning for Cancer has embarked on an ambitious target of gathering at least 100 individual responses from South Africans to qualify for this report.

“We are thrilled to support the 2024 Global Patient Survey on Lymphoma and CLL, The country report will highlight the findings, which can be used for local planning to help ensure activities align with patients’ needs, as well as advocacy efforts,” says Lauren Pretorius, CEO at Campaigning for Cancer.

From its start in 2012, the Lymphoma Coalition’s Global Patient Survey assisted in the improved comprehension of the problems that people with lymphoma and CLL experience. The survey, which is conducted every two years examines numerous elements of treatment, care, and overall impact of the diseases on patients. This survey reinforces the significance of local research, which entails acknowledging one’s native or local tradition while promoting social development and deepening the understanding of local community experiences. In addition, the findings empower Lymphoma Coalition to be able to support organisations like C4C with data needed for therapy approvals.

“By participating in this survey, South Africans diagnosed with lymphoma or CLL, as well as their caregivers have an opportunity to contribute to a better understanding of their needs and challenges. This data is invaluable in shaping advocacy efforts and driving improvements in access to care and support services,” Pretorius added.

The survey is accessible to any individual 18-years and older who has been diagnosed with lymphoma or CLL, as well as caregivers who support people with these disorders. Participants may expect the survey to take 30 to 45 minutes to complete. To participate in this survey, individuals can access it through the following link: https://bit.ly/LCGPS2024

“We urge all South Africans affected by Lymphoma or CLL as well as their caregivers to take part in this important survey,” says Pretorius. “Every response matter and contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by our community. Together, we can drive positive change and ensure that every individual affected by these diseases receives the care and support they deserve,” concludes Pretorius.
