Starbucks launches Summer A.S.A.P. (As Summer As Possible)

Last Friday, 8 March 2024, Starbucks kicked off the arrival of the second half of our South African summer. From 9-13 March, Gold Members were invited to indulge in the much-anticipated return of the limited edition Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew before its nationwide release on 14 March - the very reason to download the Starbucks Rewards App. This First Taste offering embodies the essence of Starbucks' Summer A.S.A.P (As Summer as Possible) campaign.

Dive into Summer A.S.A.P

In a season where every moment under the sun is precious, Starbucks aims to bring the spirit of summer to South Africa as vividly and quickly as possible.

Before winter's icy grip works its way through our gentle autumn, Summer A.S.A.P encourages everyone to dive deep into the warmth, freedom, and joy that only these uniquely South African sun-filled days can offer.

Experience Unmatched Freedom with Starbucks Rewards

Central to this summer's campaign is the Starbucks Rewards App, designed to help you “feel your freedom faster.”

This innovative platform is not just about earning rewards; it's about redefining the coffee experience. Gold Members enjoy unparalleled flexibility, from super-flexible cashless payments to earning Stars on any in-store purchase.

The app's design ensures customers are not confined by the usual “Buy 10 Get 1 Free” constraints of most loyalty programs.

With Starbucks Rewards, the power to customise your drink, choose any size for your free reward, and even enjoy these benefits within just 2-3 visits, sets a new standard for customer freedom and choice.

Summer ASAP Highlights: Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew & Casi Cielo

Highlighting the season's offerings, Starbucks introduces two exceptional products.

First, the Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew makes its grand return. A savoury-meets-sweet refreshment that perfectly balances the rich, smooth taste of Starbucks cold brew with a hint of caramel and a topping of salted, rich cold foam. Cold Brews are not commonly found at other local cafes or coffee houses; however, Starbucks has perfected this beverage, offering varieties across all outlets nationwide. Specially selected coffee beans are ground and steeped with room temperature filtered water for 20 hours. This slow steep extracts the coffees natural sugars and caffeine, with no natural acidity in the cup, and no bitterness, resulting in a smooth and easy drinking coffee concentrate. After being filtered, the concentrate is stored in the fridge for a further six hours which results in a rich and creamy mouthfeel. It's an invigorating delight with layers of Salted Caramel flavours and airy cold foam, designed to capture the essence of summer in every sip.

Complementing this is the super-special single-origin Guatemala Casi Cielo® whole bean coffee. Sourced from the high-altitude, volcanic Antigua region of Guatemala, this coffee is Starbucks' tribute to one of its most cherished origins. Harvested just once a year, its bright and smooth profile, with notes of lemon and dark cocoa, offers a unique tasting experience not to be missed.
