Women's Month - a successful business woman weighs in on slowing down time, work and motherhood

KRYOLAN CELEBRATES ITS PEOPLE – CHANTÉ ROETS –

A SUCCESSFUL EDUCATOR ON SLOWING DOWN TIME, WORK AND MOTHERHOOD

Johannesburg, August 2022 – August is Women’s Month, paying tribute to the generations of women that laid the foundations for women’s empowerment on a global scale. To honour the empowered women among us, global make-up brand, Kryolan SA, digs deeper into its own internal makeup, shining a Q&A spotlight on one of the women that works behind the scenes to keep the brand thriving. Meet Chanté Roets, Kryolan SA’s National Head of Education.

What defines Chanté Roets as a South African woman?

“I am a dedicated mom of a feisty little girl with a huge personality. I hope I am raising her to be a strong, successful woman and to make her own unique mark on the world. I love to travel and learn, read and cook and garden. I greatly value my friends and family.”

What does your job entail?

“As National Head of Education, I design all the online training we do for consultants who sell our product externally, and I create all our educational materials. I facilitate training and assess product and sales training programmes.”

What motivates you to do what you do?

“Educating people is a special gift and a responsibility. I love seeing people learn new skills and achieve success in their own personal lives and work. It is hugely satisfying seeing programmes I have poured my heart into launched and implemented.

“This year was particularly proud for me as one of my new online training programmes will now be used across the world and the programme supports in-store sales staff in achieving their targets. This makes a personal difference in their lives and their income.”

What next?

“This is just the beginning! I am working on adding more programmes to our online training platform that will help people do their jobs more effectively, giving them more satisfaction and scope to grow.”

What inspires you to go to work every day?

“Kryolan SA is like a family and that is what a great workplace should be. Sometimes we fight. Sometimes we laugh. But ultimately, through thick and thin, we get through it all together. Doing this for one of the foremost make-up brands in the world is a privilege and I am growing and learning every day.”

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

“I would love to slow down time. I feel like we rush through our days and miss out on too many special moments. I’d love to slow those down and just enjoy them for longer.”

Where do you see yourself five years from now?

“I hope to be managing more team members and to collaborate more internationally with more training initiatives. Women have the power to make a big difference in our country and to help the economy grow to its full potential. I hope I can be a part of building South Africa up to everything it can be.”
