Kryolan happy to announce an exciting start to 2022

With new appointments, competitions and new product ranges

Johannesburg, 24 March 2022 – Kryolan SA has a history dating back 75 years, beginning with its conception in Germany. The company established its first South African distribution centre in 2010, and Kryolan SA has been growing exponentially ever since, making great strides in the South African market with some exciting developments already in play this year.

New appointments

As the company branches further into the world of retail, the appointment of retail consultant Shamiso Muvavarirwa will see the professional make-up brand extend its footprint. Her passion for make-up stems from her roots on the stage, its beautiful theatrics and production effects, as well as the performances and showmanship. Muvavarirwa will oversee all retail sales and will also be responsible for wholesale order preparation.

In addition, once she has undergone training for her new role, Muvavarirwa will take on the position of Product Advisor and join Kryolan’s team of make-up artists – forming a call-out team that creates make-up magic for anything from weddings to photoshoots.

Another appointment is Kyra Augustus to the LaLuchia branch. “My passion for make-up stemmed from my passion for art in high school. I’ve always been intrigued by film and theatre make up and how make up actually tells a story on its own, so it allowed me to express myself as I struggled to do so at the time,” says Kyra.

Proud placements

Kryolan was also the sponsor of the fantasy make-up category at the EOHCB (Employers Organisation for Hairdressing, Cosmetology and Beauty) national competition. Kryolan is incredibly proud of current brand ambassador Chantell Kock who placed third nationally. The Kryolan special effects range is world-famous and used by make-up artists in the film and television industries around the world; known for out-of-the-box looks that are perfect for parties, photoshoots and cosplay.

SFX and consumer offerings

The top three participants in the Fantasy Make-Up category received a prize from Kryolan, which included the Kryolan Variety eye shadow palettes – an elegant mirror palette featuring 18 colours. The micronised pigments offer the possibility of applying this preparation, not only with fashionable transparency but also with vivid colour emphasis.

Also included was Glamour high-lustre powder, which conjures up iridescent light and sparkling effects on the skin and Polyester glimmer – a stunning product for creating beautiful, sparkling effects on body and hair. These products were among just a few that also included lip stain sets, fixing sprays and embellishment products.

New ranges coming out

Kryolan will continue to make its mark on the retail cosmetic market while remaining a trusted brand in the show business industry. Its vegan range will also be making its way into South African stores, cornering a whole new market in ethical cosmetics.

Kryolan has always been known as a staple for movie make-up artists worldwide. But the brand, incidentally, caters equally to the everyday user, with a range of commercial make-up products easily available off the shelf. Kryolan supplies the finest imported range of professional cosmetics, offers a personal make-up shopping service and has an extensive range of professional products on the shelf for all consumers.
