Afroteq advisory appoints Kukhanyakwezwe Hlatshwayo as Head of Northern Region - Business Development and Projects

Afroteq Advisory, an integrated multi-disciplinary consulting company providing advisory, project management and training services to the built environment and a subsidiary of the AFMS Group, has appointed Kukhanyakwezwe (“Khanyo”) Bonginkosi Hlatshwayo as Head of its Northern Region - Business Development and Projects – encompassing the provinces of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Heading up the company’s office in Woodmead, Johannesburg, Khanyo has also been entrusted with the remit to grow the company’s footprint into neighbouring sub-Saharan countries such as Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

Khanyo is a Mechanical Technologist who is currently working towards completing his Master’s Degree in Engineering Management through the University of Johannesburg, focussing on the development of soft skills among engineers. He was also privileged to be one of only a handful of students to be awarded a 100 % full scholarship by the Quantic School of Business and Technology in Washington DC, USA, for its Executive MBA programme.

Khanyo is professionally registered with the Engineering Council of SA (ECSA) and the Green Building Council of SA (GBCSA) and possesses extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. He has worked on various projects in multiple industries, including healthcare, data centres, correctional facilities, sports stadiums, petrochemical, automotive, air-conditioning, telecommunication, energy systems and building services.

Commenting on what attracted him to joining the Afroteq Advisory team, Khanyo explains that his name literally means “light to the world” in Zulu. With the company’s strong focus on empowering people and businesses around South Africa, he believes that Afroteq also brings light to the workplace and the companies it serves.
