Update on Shamwari Game Reserve Rhino

Submitted by: The P.R Team

The rhino calf that was brutally attacked earlier this week by poachers and lost his mother in the process is currently at Shamwari Game Reserve in The Animal Rehabilitation Centre and is receiving the very best medical care and attention.

States Joe Cloete - Group General Manager - Shamwari Group; “He is responding well to treatment, his condition is stable and he has started to eat again. At this point we are concerned about some damage to his eyes yet the wound on his nose should heal over time and his injured hind leg is also improving.”

“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has emailed and left encouraging comments on our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/#!/shamwarisafari and we will be sure to keep you updated as the day’s progress.”
