Outsourced CFO, a Cape Town-based and internationally servicing business management company celebrated the start of its ten-year anniversary by unlocking critical trends in the financial sector at its sold-out Scale-Up Con on Thursday 29 June 2023.

Founded in 2013 by university friends Louw Barnardt and Dana Pretorius, Outsourced CFO has revolutionised the SME industry by providing unique services to help entrepreneurs and small businesses rethink, automate, and scale their companies to pursue business eminence.

The Scale-Up Con, held annually to inspire and empower finance professionals, is one of Outsourced CFO’s most popular events, and the sold-out audience of nearly 200 peoplecertainly was switched on at the Crystal Towers Hotel last week.

Barnardt, who presented a keynote address as well as led one of the fascinating panel discussions, is ecstatic about the critical trends he saw emerging from this year’s Con:

“I was impressed with the level of expertise shared at this year’s Scale-Up Con. For me, the critical trends and takeaways were first, good leadership, which is key to building a great company. You have to figure out how to grow yourself in order to grow your organisation.

Secondly, be realistic. The reality of how difficult it is to create, sustain and grow a business whilst maintaining relationships and families must be acknowledged. The right infrastructure, the right base, and the ability for your business to run successfully without you are the true test for a successful entrepreneur. “

The Scale-Up Con is the first in a series of 10th-anniversary celebrations for Outsourced CFO, and Barnardt has teased what is still to come for the successful firm before the official event later this year:
