Universum’s Wellbeing Pulse Survey reveals a softer side to employer branding

Johannesburg, 29 August 2022: Leading international employer branding agency, Universum Global, has released the results of its 2022 Wellbeing Pulse Survey, revealing that wellbeing has shifted further up the list of priorities among students and professionals when choosing their employers. These survey results will be discussed in detail at an online Coffee Chat on the 8th of September 2022 at 11h00 and interested employers are invited to register to attend.

The COVID-19 pandemic saw many changes to the employment landscape globally. Notably, many professionals resigned from their jobs if they were not satisfied with their working conditions in a worldwide trend called “The Great Resignation”, highlighting the skills shortage in South Africa.

Employer branding and EVP (Employee Value Proposition) have emerged as top priorities for employers concerned with retaining critical skills in staff. At the same time, work-life balance and wellness are among the most prominent motivators for employees to remain with their employers. This begs the question: How important is company culture to employer brands? And how does this influence the wellbeing of employees in the company?

During the free 30 –45 minute Coffee Chat session, the critical components of the Universum Wellbeing Pulse Survey will be discussed. This survey examines the responses of over 1,800 university students and young professionals across the globe, with a focus on South African data:

This discussion will be hosted by Universum’s Global Partner, Florence Jonasson, who was responsible for conducting this exhaustive survey. Florence will be walking attendees through the different aspects of the survey and, more specifically, how they affect the South African landscape.

Florence is market research professional and Senior Consultant who advises key global clients about their employer branding strategies. She has more than 10 years of experience working with international surveys.
