Chevrolet Teams up with Natalie du Toit

On 11 September 2012, South Africa welcomed Natalie du Toit home from the Paralympic Games in London. Her first stop en route from Johannesburg's O R Tambo International Airport was General Motor's marketing headquarters in Woodmead. Here she was handed a set of keys to a brand new Chevrolet Captiva, as a thank-you from General Motors – or GM – and South Africa for her ongoing excellent performance, and for her time spent as a brand ambassador for Chevrolet.

At the Games this year, du Toit clinched a total of three gold medals and a silver medal. It was in keeping with her gold-winning streak that the Captiva awarded her by GM and Chevrolet was gold in colour. Du Toit will be using the Captiva LTZ as her personal transport in the coming months, as she travels from city to city attending various business and sporting engagements. She is a much sought after motivational speaker, and will be even more so after her stellar performance at the 2012 Paralympic Games.

Tim Hendon, Chevrolet brand manager in South Africa, had the following to say: "Natalie has been a Chevrolet brand ambassador for a number of years now and we are excited to be able to continue this relationship with her as she moves on from her medal winning success in swimming competition to a new era in her career as a world class athlete. She adds an element of excitement to an iconic automotive brand in South Africa which we trust will transport her in style as a South African and international sports celebrity."
