Textar Cera Tec Anti-squeal lubricant

Textar’s non-metallic anti-squeal lubricant for braking systems is heat resistant up to 1000°C. It is suited for lubricating disc and drum brakes, compressors, central lubricating systems, axle bearings, chains, seat tracks, sunroof guides and battery contacts.

Cera Tec is non-conductive, contains no solid constituents, is suitable for anti-lock braking systems, facilitates brake installation, reduces brake noise, protects against scoring and corrosion and is free of copper and acids.

Cera Tec versus copper paste Copper in a lubricant can cause corrosion. While copper paste is favoured as a long-life lubricant, more and more vehicles are being equipped with sensitive technology that controls the processes during vehicle operation (e.g. ABS, ESP). Many sensors supply information regarding the actual driving parameters to the on-board electronics.   Incorrect or excessive use of copper paste can create particles of metal in the paste that causes the sensors and safety-relevant systems to malfunction.

Not only for economic reasons but also to reduce the unsprung masses, more vehicles are being equipped with aluminium alloy chassis parts and brake callipers. Copper particles can also cause problems with this. Copper and aluminium react electrolytically with one another causing a type of corrosion which has precisely the opposite effect of a lubricant.
