The month of August is recognized as Women’s month in South Africa. During this month, the country honors their beauty and take time to remember and celebrate the heroines of 1956 who took it upon themselves to fight for freedom.

Besides our own mothers and sisters, we recognize women who delivered the freedom we continue to enjoy today such as Albertina Sisulu, Helen Joseph, Lilian Ngoyi and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela amongst many others who participated in the fight against the oppressive system of apartheid. We reflect and appreciate the unique roles that women play in our daily lives and shine the spotlight on women who have done exceptional work, making big moves in different sectors of the economy as well as the society at large.

At Lungile Mtiya and Associates, we encourage South Africans to not only celebrate women during this month, but to continue respecting and appreciating women’s unique contributions in the lives of all that cross their paths.
