Recognise and Appreciate Women

Submitted by: Archy Hlahla

The month of August is recognized as Women’s month in South Africa. During this month, the country honors their beauty and take time to remember and celebrate the heroines of 1956 who took it upon themselves to fight for freedom.

Besides our own mothers and sisters, we recognize women who delivered the freedom we continue to enjoy today such as Albertina Sisulu, Helen Joseph, Lilian Ngoyi and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela amongst many others who participated in the fight against the oppressive system of apartheid. We reflect and appreciate the unique roles that women play in our daily lives and shine the spotlight on women who have done exceptional work, making big moves in different sectors of the economy as well as the society at large.

At Lungile Mtiya and Associates, we encourage South Africans to not only celebrate women during this month, but to continue respecting and appreciating women’s unique contributions in the lives of all that cross their paths. Let us stand together and support our women for a better tomorrow for all.

The women headed Human Resource Consulting firm based in Sandton, south of Johannesburg has been operating since 2006. “We provide a one stop for all Human Resources and Employee Relations services. Our main objective is to build smooth relations between clients, employers and employees, to ensure productive, safe and sound working environments.”, says Buli Nogela, a Human Resource Consultant at Lungile Mtiya & Associates.

On the 17th of August, South Africa moved to Level 2 lock-down allowing SA’s economy to start humming again. We saw millions of South Africans going back to work though many had lost their jobs because companies had shut down their doors due to lack of business. The pandemic certainly presented a myriad of challenges to both employers and employees.

We hope that level 2 marks the end of the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and encourage you all to stay safe and make use of our services, as Human Resources have become much more important and an essential element for every company during this time.

Lungile Mtiya and Associates has been doing exceptional work, helping employers and employees for years now. “We have helped many reputable companies build strong mutual relationships with employees and clients as well as build strong company culture. Consult with us today and we will provide you with expert advice to navigate through any HR crisis” says Miss Mtiya, the Managing Member at Lungile Mtiya and Associates. The women headed company continues to fly their flag sky high, proving that women can do anything that they set their mind on.

The killing of women and children continues to burden the families of South Africa. gender based violence statistics are on the rise, and women are now living in fear. We urge all men to stand up against the abuse and killing of women. We encourage both men and women to make use of counselling services and get help when facing challenges in relationships, at home or in the workplace.
