Duxbury Networking to distribute Rajant Kinetic Mesh technology in SA

Submitted by: Howard Mellet

The US-based Rajant Corporation, the supplier of wireless networking solutions based on mobile, scalable kinetic wireless mesh technology, has appointed Duxbury Networking to distribute its ‘always-on’ communications solutions allowing critical applications to be accessed in real time.

Andy Robb, chief technology officer at Duxbury Networking, says Rajant’s patented offerings will be targeted at a broad market spectrum in South Africa, including the mining and transport industries, Internet service providers, telecommunications companies and large corporates in the public and private sectors. They will be marketed through the nationwide Duxbury-accredited reseller and dealer network.

“Rajant’s Kinetic Mesh networks break new ground by providing fully mobile wireless broadband connectivity that is simple, instantaneous and – thanks to distinctive ‘self-healing’ properties - fail-proof in any application,” he says.

“The offering brings to life an extremely agile and adaptable wireless broadband solution that thrives in today’s diverse, ubiquitously mobile environments. It is a ‘living’ solution capable of evolving to meet changing connectivity demands,” he says.

Supporting Rajant’s networks are its BreadCrumb branded network nodes and InstaMesh routing technology. The company also offers a CacheCrumb node - a wireless transceiver with built-in processing power that enables applications to be pushed to the edge of a network for quicker access.

“Rajant’s networks use BreadCrumb nodes and InstaMesh software to continuously and instantaneously route data via the best available traffic path and frequency for any number of nodes, all with extremely low overhead,” explains Robb.

He adds Rajant’s BreadCrumb nodes can communicate with any wi-fi or Ethernet-connected device to deliver low-latency, high-throughput data, voice and video applications across a meshed network.
