The annual Sebenza Women Awards that is focused on rewarding women excellence announced on Friday 9 October 2020, the closure of voting for contestants following a positive, huge turnout of voters. The polls, which opened on the 6th of July 2020 have been running for three months and will close on Friday, the 16th of October 2020.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Sebenza Women Awards will not sell any tickets to the public this year. The event will only be attended by nominees, sponsors, media partners and strictly by invite. This is in line with the lockdown government rules and regulations however, the event will be open for streaming, for free to the public on all Sebenza Women Awards social media platforms as well as on 1KZN TV and Moja Love, channel 157 on DStv.

“We would like to thank all individuals who voted for their favorite Sebenza Women Awards contestants. We appreciate you taking your time to vote and being part of this event, know that your participation means a lot to us”, said Mr Kini Shandu, the founder of the Sebenza Women Awards.

“We encourage all those who have not voted yet to kindly use this last week to do so, before the polls close on Friday the 16th of October as we will be starting to count the votes and do final preparations for the main event taking place on the 30th of October at the Durban Gateway Hotel at 6pm.
