Four suspects arrested in Westdene and Sophiatown

On Friday 19th July, the Sophiatown SAPS and Fidelity ADT Specialised Response Unit conducted a stop and search operation in the Westdene and the Sophiatown area in response to increased crime levels in the suburb.

The operation was lead by Col. Govender and the new station commander, Brigadier Ndebele. Three suspects were apprehended and arrested – three for being in possession of dangerous weapons, and one for being in possession of illegal drugs. Natasha Springfield, Community Development Manager for Fidelity ADT says, “

“The operation was successful and showed the high level of collaboration between the SAPS and local security companies. “We believe it is important to do these operations regularly to make a point that there is a security presence and crime will not be tolerated.”
