Droogte Drought Imbalela Isomiso Komelelo Dyandza Gomelelo Komello Somiso Khuru,

a mixed media group exhibition opens Friday 25th of August at 7pm with guest speaker Gwen Meyer, to be followed by a series of poetry readings by well known local poets.

"Drought and extreme weather are the new normal part of climate change in this new planetary epoch we now call the Anthropocene. The scale and far- reaching consequences of the current drought in South Africa are hard to imagine.

This exhibition explores how art can be a tool to explore some of the complexities of these new planetary realities such as drought. With work from over 30 artists this exhibition will have a particularly South African approach."

Artists participating include: Karin Daymond, Lien Botha, Gerald Tabata, Frans Mulder, MJ Lourens, Peter van Straten, Asanda Kupa, JP Meyer, Jill Trappler, Di Johnson-Ackerman, Mark Hiltout, Gwen Meyer, Vuyisa Potina, Shelley Maisel, Cheryl Traub-Adler,  Laurel Holmes, Noeleen Kleve, Grant Oxche, Natalie Poole, Juria le Roux, Julia van Schalkwyk, Marguerite Roux, Harry Kontratos, Dave Robertson, Simon Sephton, Margot Hattingh, Fawa Conradie, Cathy de Villiers, Theresa Jo Wessels, Hannah Jo Wessels and more.
