Not to be missed event for Education Professionals

Education is the best weapon to combat poverty and inequality in any society and that is certainly the goal of the annual EduWeek event that is in it’s eleventh year and is taking place this week – Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th July – at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. EduWeek promises to once again deliver the most comprehensive education event on the continent with the ultimate aim of advancing educational knowledge in Africa. Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Sudan, Namibia, Rwanda and many other African countries will be represented at the 2017 installment of EduWeek and organiser’s, Spintellient, are proud to announce that they will be welcoming Government representatives from 8 of the 9 Provinces this year.

Theme

The theme of the event for 2017 is Education: Africa’s path to a sustainable future and is all about highlighting the challenges that education in a 21st century Africa is facing, and looking for real and meaningful solutions to combat these. With this in mind, two brand new Conference Arena’s have been developed at EduWeek, they are: Education: Africa’s path to a sustainable future and South Africa’s National Development Plan – over the two days, these two arena’s will showcase a jam-packed itinerary of knowledgable and credible speakers and cover a full range of topics relevant to these two topics, all with the aim of offering practical guides and solutions.

Free, Free, Free…

EduWeek brings together educational professionals across Technology, Vocational & Higher Education, Basic Education, Inclusive Education, Early Childhood Development and offers the perfect platform in which to evaluate, see and buy new solutions for all education institution’s needs whilst attending free training sessions dedicated to each delegates specific needs. Entrance to the event is completely free and sees over 5,500 educational professionals attend the two-day indaba. With over 40 countries represented in terms of attendees and exhibitors, EduWeek is a truly international event, with international standing.

Opening Keynote

EduWeek 2017 kicks off on the 12th July with an interactive keynote panel discsusion entitled Education Revolution: Using Education as a platform to create global citizens who have the necessary skills to promote economic growth and sustainability within Africa. Chaired by investigative journalist, Claire Mawisa, the panel includes Ebrahim Matthews, the Managing Director of Pearson, Dr. Steven McKee, President and Founder of Labtech International, Mr. Douglas Hoernle of Karri School Payments and a representative of the Department of Basic Education. Discussion points include: trends in education; the difference between information, knowledge and understanding; functional literacy and why this is so important to achieving educational goals and; how to ensure that learners are real-world ready!

EduWeek Exhibition

Eduweek is proud to deliver Africa’s widest choice of quality end to end solutions in its education exhibition. The EduWeek exhibition floor is much larger this year and the event has moved from Hall 5 at Gallagher Convention Centre to Halls 2 & 3 in order to accommodate the massive growth of the event .
