FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

StateoftheART and G2 Art  are showing their support for World Design Capital Cape Town 2014 by introducing an initiative called 'Start A Collection',  affording first-time buyers an amazing opportunity to start their own art collection on a modest budget.

The galleries have collaborated with their artists to offer substantial discounts of up to 20% on selected pieces. 'Start A Collection' will be a bi-annual opportunity coinciding with the First Thursdays event taking place on the 6th of March and again on the 4th of September. Don't forget your credit card as the discounted prices are only valid between 5pm - 9pm on those two evenings.

Editor's Notes

StateoftheART is a permanent gallery situated at 61 Shortmarket Street in Cape Town, a space where art lovers can physically experience a diverse and dynamic selection of contemporary art. Our physical gallery is complemented by online platform StateoftheART.co.za which showcases our full inventory of available work by our hand-picked fine arts graduates and selected emerging artists.

StateoftheART Gallery

Established in 2010 and a pioneer in the online art market in South Africa, StateoftheART re-imagines the brick-and-mortar art gallery experience for the digital age, differentiating itself through full transparency and accessibility. Our pricing structure is clear and straightforward with the majority of the proceeds from a sale being returned to the artist who created the work. Importantly, our pricing is very competitive, leaving no room to incentivise buyers with discounts. The StateoftheART Gallery Award, a not-for-profit initiative, was founded by the gallery in 2018 to promote artists who have yet to establish a profile on the contemporary South African art scene - so when you buy art from StateoftheART you’re directly supporting artists.
