Prominent Paints Makes It Better for Cotlands kids with a donation of R150 000

PPG Group company, Prominent Paints, is lending a helping hand to non-profit organisation – Cotlands – through a national #feelgood fundraising campaign that has raised R150 000.  The paint company launched a special Cotlands promo pack in July which quickly sold out - proving South Africans have a heart and despite their own economic pressures – are still willing to participate in cause related campaigns.

Sold exclusively through its Select Store partners and paint centres throughout the country, for every promo Sheen White PVA 20L paint sold – Prominent Paints donated R30 to the early childhood development charity which serves vulnerable children up to the age of six. Prominent Paints spokesperson for the campaign, Lani Carstens, expressed her gratitude to the contractors, builders, body corporates, schools and home DIY enthusiasts, who got behind the campaign. “It truly is a worthwhile cause deserving of support.”

Adding to this she says, “Cotlands focus is on addressing early childhood development and education gaps; a cause we feel strongly about. Education is a massive problem in South Africa and by partnering with Cotlands we believe we are investing in the future leaders of our county. For these reasons, when deciding on the beneficiary for this corporate giving campaign, Cotlands was an easy choice.”

By providing early learning playgroups, toy libraries, nutrition, health, psychosocial and residential child care to vulnerable children, Cotlands is able to give young children in under-resourced communities the opportunity to thrive into adulthood. Cotlands currently provides these services to more than 8 000 beneficiaries around the country.

“Whether it’s a decision that will impact customers, staff or members of the surrounding communities in which Prominent Paints operates, we believe that whatever we do must be guided by our mantra to: Make it Better. For this is the very essence of Prominent Paints.  It is our hope that our donation, which is geared towards making life better, will serve the children in Cotlands care,” concludes Carstens.
