Natalie Chapman and Raoul and Black Friday: One night in Stellenbosch, 2 incredible artists! Join us where Country/Blues and Rock Meet for one night

Submitted by: Natalie

Two Top South African acts will be joining forces for a tour across the Country! Both will just have returned from the Mozambiquian Festival STRAB and will be tearing across South Africa with their blistering act from 28th June – 7th July. For the true music lovers out there, this is one Double Act you need to see!

Incredible vocals, skilful original songwriters, killer tight band and a live performance charged with energy and charisma. Arriving in Cape Town from Johannesburg they kick the tour off at the much loved Dorp Straat Teater in Stellenbosch. On Friday, 28th June locals will be treated to the incredible combination of Modern Blues – Raoul and Black Friday and Modern Country – Natalie Chapman. Their music genres define them in words only as these two acts are anything but traditional.

Raoul and Black Friday…

Performing ‘Rocking’ Blues in a style which is anything but laid back. Setting the bar at an international level and never settling for less – that’s Raoul and Black Friday.

Raoul and Black Friday describe their style as “ever evolving, learning and developing using blues as the fundamental style.” The band are technically brilliant and a fine tuned machine but they are much more than instrumental virtuoso’s: their playing underpins a true blues passion for their music.

“You must LIVE the music,” says Raoul. And they do! The band’s live performances take their audience on an exhilarating blues journey of audio and visual stimulation

Natalie Chapman………

The depth of Chapman’s talent as a lyricist is only matched by her talent as a musician.

Her newly released album “Truth Sessions” solidifies her reputation as one of the best female artists in the country. With her honest, open lyrics, soulful music, incredible vocals and dynamic performances, South African’s should prepare themselves to start hearing the truth from an artist who is wholly unafraid to speak it.

When recording “Truth Sessions” Natalie approached some of her favourite musicians who quickly came on board to work with her on this project. Industry greats such as Albert Frost and Dan Patlansky join her on this beautiful and often surprising collection of songs.

As an added bonus, űber-rocker, Karen Zoid has lent her vocal stylings to the track, She Should Know – turning the song into a formidable duet.

With hit songs under her belt and a new album creating stirrings internationally she is gaining momentum like a freight train. A stalwart in the music industry – and widely known as a brilliant live musician Natalie Chapman is a local product to be proud of.
