Exciting new food service, changing the way students eat!

Submitted by: JASON

"Student Grub" is about to launch on selected Campus's across the Western Cape.

The service is the brainchild of a small business entrepreneur, wanting to give students the opportunity to eat properly at a price that even the poorest of students can afford.

Months of market research and presentations have taken 'Gourmet2You' to the point whereby they are ready to launch.  Students will be able to use social media to choose their meals and order.

Adapting to the newest available technologies - 'Zinguz' will be the payment gateway of choice.  This is an integrated Facebook application that allows customers with FB accounts to make payments using the FB platform. No sensitive information will be given to the suppliers. Developed by the Integr8 group, we feel this is the payment method of the future.

Keeping the price low (less than R23-R30 a meal including a side dish such as rice or mash as well as vegetables and delivery) is critical to the success of the venture. Meals will be well portioned  and offer vegetarian, halal and low-cal options over and above the standard meals, to cater for most students.

The company continues to carry out a series of targeted 'road shows' whereby student bodies are engaged about their eating habits and what they'd like offered on a daily basis.

We are talking to residence administrators about having these high quality meals delivered to students, potentially with the cost added to the cost of accommodation. This will give parents the piece of mind to know that for less than R800 a month, their son or daughter can eat healthily and heartily every day of the week. For the price of about 15 small pizzas, each student can have 30 delicious full dinners delivered to their campus or residence over the course of a month.

Convenient drop 'hot spots' will be allocated on each campus, and students will be used for distribution. Vocational and on-the-job training will be given to students looking to get involved in the costing, production and management of food enterprises.

We hope this will be the healthy, cheap alternative to fast foods - a healthy body means a healthy mind!
