The Cape Town Amazing Race is back and aims to raise funds for Bright Start

Written by

Presented by Bright Start, the Cape Town Amazing Race is back and is set to raise funds for towards a bigger bus for the Bright Start education programme. Non-profit Bright Start is looking for dynamic, fun-loving and passionate people to give up a Saturday afternoon to make a big difference in the lives of underprivileged children.

The race takes place on Saturday, 1 November and sees teams of four, racing by car between some of the best sites that the Mother City has to offer.

Teams are given clues that lead them to pit stops, but in a twist on the reality TV show version of the contest, teams are also required to raise funds en route. The winning team must reach each pit stop, solve all the clues and of course, have fun while doing it.

The top secret self-drive route for the Bright Start Amazing Race will be revealed at registration on the Kronendal Primary school field in Hout Bay from Noon on the day.

Entry is R1000 per team of four and all proceeds go to Bright Start’s Bus Campaign. The campaign goal is to raise R320 000 for a bigger bus to transport its expanding number of children to and from school and extra-murals each day; so that they are kept safe and can focus on schooling.

R120 000 has already been raised, leaving a balance of R200 000 needed to secure the keys to a bigger bus.

This fun event is a quintessential team-building activity and provides the perfect opportunity for friendly rivalries and outdoor fun with soul.
