Magic & Mirth To Captivate Capetonians At New Rosebank Theatre

Submitted by: Marcel Oudejans

Audiences are certain to be captivated and laughing when Marcel Oudejans performs his comedy-infused magic show, “Sleight Of Mouth: The Art Of Talking Your Way Out Of Anything”, showing at the new Rosebank Theatre (16 Alma Street, Rosebank, Cape Town) on Friday 9 and Saturday 10 August 2013 at 20h00. This intimate 40-seater theatre is the perfect environment to see up close how huge objects are produced, minds are read, needles are consumed and forks melted into pieces.

Oudejans, who had his festival-debut at this year's National Arts Festival Fringe in Grahamstown, has been performing professionally as an entertainer for well over a decade. His shows include three years performing for the Madame Zingara restaurant group, and performances at casinos, luxury hotels, and for hundreds of blue-chip corporate audiences. Marcel also represented South African magic at the 'Vismayam International Magic Convention' in India in May 2008.

The Cape Times describes his act as one “… of deceptions, belly laughter and lots of surprised gasps.” It's a perfectly blended combination of classical sleight-of-hand magic, eye-popping visual illusions, modern-day humour and wit that makes you stare in wonder and surprise - and leaves you laughing out loud.

This performance is a rare opportunity for the public to enjoy the talents of a thoroughly professional and engaging entertainer: “Sleight of Mouth is worth seeing for the laughter and surprises” ('Cue' review, National Arts Festival 2013).

Tickets are R100 each and available via Webtickets (www.webtickets.co.za/event.aspx?itemid=405902016  / 0861 22 55 98). Seating is limited, booking is essential. Show duration: 55min.
