The book has been designed for those who love superb interior design and appreciate heritage and ambience, the beauty of sprawling gardens and dramatic natural landscapes. All highlighted through the work of long-time collaborators of The Huka Retreats’ founder Alex van Heeren – leading New Zealand interior designer Virginia Fisher and landscape designer Suzanne Turley. When celebrated writer, the late Bryce Courtenay met Alex van Heeren over twenty years ago, the two found they shared much in common, including a passion for adventure and a love of Africa, so not surprisingly it was Bryce who agreed to write the Foreword to WORLDS APART to encapsulate Alex’s vision.

Sadly, Bryce passed away while the book was being printed; however, his touching words serve as a legacy to The Huka Retreats and what they still stand for.
