Submitted by: Ian Dickinson

Cape Town’s most vibrant weekend market offers up a feast of fantastic musical talent along with wonderful cuisine, and a host of goodies up for grabs.  Free musical performances by both professional and emerging local talent from across the musical spectrum have become a permanent fixture at Bay Harbour Market. Don’t miss Acid Blues (1 Feb), Alan Cameron (2 Feb), The Room (3 Feb), 3 Tons of Fun (8 Feb), The Bootleggers Blues Band (9 Feb), and Novo One (10 Feb) coming up in the next two weeks.

Once a derelict fish factory in the heart of Hout Bay’s fishing epicentre, Bay Harbour Market has become a vibrant Western Cape attraction with scores of eager shoppers flocking to the harbour each weekend. A platform for entrepreneurial traders and established companies to extend their brands, this industrial chic playground boasts fashion shows, Saturday auctions and impromptu musical performances in and amongst the wide array of art, crafts and food for sale.

Visitors are spoiled for choice with a huge array of goods and food for sale including gourmet cuisine from Pete Goffe-Wood’s Kitchen Cowboys, soup from Zoop!, mouth-watering pizza or meals from further abroad courtesy of Tao's Chinese Kitchen. Other traders include clothing retailers Bengers, PureBliss, Just Cruising, Skint Clothing, and Maybru; as well as art from the Kraal Gallery and Art Factor.
