Following on from the first MOREJAZZ SERIES, Moreira Chonguica, award-winning jazz saxophonist and producer launches the MOREJAZZ SERIES 2 on Sunday, 2 September 2012 in Maputo.
MOREJAZZ SERIES 2 presents 'Lion of Africa' Manu Dibango and the Soul Makossa Gang to perform for the first time in Mozambique. Manu Dibango is a saxophonist and vibraphone player, who has developed his own unique musical style, fusing jazz, funk and traditional Cameroonian music.
The partnership between Manu Dibango and Moreira started in 2008 during a visit to Paris, Moreira was interviewed by Manu on his radio show. Following on, Manu contributed to Moreira's second album Vol 2: Citizen of the World, track 3 – West South Side.

Coinciding with MOREJAZZ SERIES 2 is Maputo's biggest international trade expo known as FACIM which is being held outside of Maputo in Ricatla-Marracuene.
A special stage has been imported from Portugal for the cultural programme which will run parallel to the trade expo culminating on Sunday 2 September 2012 with a performance by The Moreira Project and then Manu Dibango and the Soul Makossa Band. The MOREJAZZ SERIES consists of two concerts and one jazz master class. Moreira brought his long time friend Najee from the United Sates to help launch the first MOREJAZZ SERIES in Maputo in April 2012.
