Roberto’s signature restaurant Celebrates in Style this Festive Season

7 December 2011– Roberto’s signature restaurant, with renowned Executive Chef, Roberto De Carvalho at the helm, will celebrate the restaurant’s first festive season with three extensive Mediterranean menus to choose from and a new wine menu.

‘Christmas Eve Choice Set Menu’ at R345.00 per person consists of pre starter - rissois de camarão, starters - Portuguese prawn Rissole served with Piri-piri aioli, Caprese salad, grilled chouriço sausage, fresh mussels or sautéed mushrooms.

Main course choices are - West Coast sole, chicken and prawn curry, bacalhau assado, Portuguese fillet steak, chicken espetada or penne pasta

For dessert - Trio De Sobremesas - three mini portions of Roberto’s favourite Portuguese desserts all on one plate - bolo de ananás - famous Portuguese style pineapple upside-down cake, pudim de café - rich Portuguese style coffee crème dessert – aletria – ‘angels hair’ pasta pudding with cinnamon, berry compote and crème fraîche

‘Christmas Day Choice Set Menu’ at R345 per person offers a pre starter of pastéis de bacalhau then guests can select from the choice of starters such as grilled baby calamari tubes, warm chicken salad, beef trinchado or melanzane.

For mains grilled fish of the day, or Roberto’s famous Prawns Naçional - 7 large prawns simmered in beer, garlic and a mild green chilli sauce with a touch of cream; served with spicy basmati rice, bacalhau à Gomes De Sá, beef espetada, flame grilled baby chicken or penne arrabiata.

For dessert - Trio De Sobremesas -  three mini portions of Portuguese desserts all on one plate - pastél de nata - famous lemon custard tart recipe from the town of Belém or mousse de chocolate or Aletria – ‘angels hair’ pasta pudding with cinnamon, berry compote and crème fraîche

Menu price includes welcome drink, tea and coffee, service staff gratuity and full pre-payment is required to secure booking by 20 December.

‘New Years Eve @ Roberto’s’ – Guests are welcomed with Pongrácz and Pongrácz Rosé with oysters and snacks in the bar lounge. Starters – melanzane, antipasti plate, warm octopus salad or sautéed mushrooms. Main course - grilled fish of the day, West Coast crayfish, prawns naçional, Portuguese fillet steak, chicken Espetada or penne pasta. 

Desserts - Trio De Sobremesas - baked cheese cake, fresh fruit plate or the legendary tiramisu. Alternatively a cheese finale highlighting local cheeses. 

Price includes - Welcome Drink, Oysters, Snacks, Food, Tea, Coffee, all party favours and entertainment, Glass of Cap Classique to celebrate the New Year @ midnight and service charge.

Please inform us of any special dietary requirements, full pre-payment required to secure a booking, menu price inclusive of 14% VAT. Unfortunately no children under 13 years of age. Entertainment – live Samba band. Menu price excludes other beverages (we have an extensive wine list – corkage charged at R45 per bottle.
