SAZA’s Lee Herrmann Releases Fourth Zombie Apocalypse Book

Written by
KBs Log

South African Zombie authority Lee Herrmann returns with the fourth book in the South African Zombie Association (SAZA) catalogue: KB’s Log.  Herrmann’s last book was 2016’s tongue-in-cheek reverse survival-guide Zombie ZA, but he now returns with a new fictional tale of the unraveling Apocalypse in South Africa.

KB’s Log is an account of the titular character after she is suspended from boarding school, and her dad decides to send her out to the remote ranger station of her family’s game farm as punishment. Without warning a helicopter falls from the sky, and the survivors bring harrowing news that the cities are being overrun by zombies.

‘Whereas this is not a sequel, there was always going to be a link to the first book in the sense that it’s the same universe,’ recalls Herrmann of the 2011 release Journal of a South African Zombie Apocalypse. ‘It’s just that Journal took place two years after the Apocalypse, and KB’s Log is as it’s unfolding.’

The adventure starts off in the Mpumalanga bush and the growing threat results in a group of rag-tag survivors fighting for their lives. ‘I’ve always loved the idea of very different personalities being drawn together is a crisis situation, and this time we’ve upped the ante by introducing a new and even deadlier threat, says Herrmann, who had the idea for the book as early as 2014.

As with previous books, Tall Tales will be handling publishing and distribution. ‘We’re very excited at this latest release,’ says Stephen Lewis of Tall Tale publishing. ‘Zombies are always popular and the South African setting makes it really accessible - and will resonate with local audiences, especially the lead character.’

KB’s Log is now available online at Amazon in eBook format and at all good book stores. For more information about SAZA or to get media-related material, visit: http://www.saza.co.za/media-centre/
