Davenport Square make their Mandela Day minutes, count!

Davenport Square make their Mandela Day minutes, count!  On Wednesday, Mandela Day, July 18th, Davenport Square in the heart of Berea, tended to the need of their community by donating 10 concrete benches to Open Air School which will be a valuable addition to the Primary School learners' lunch area for years' to come.

The donation was part of the SOS Campaign (Support Our Schools), which aims to help improve the quality of education in the country and provide hope to future generations.  Open Air School caters for approximately 260 learners, from pre-primary to grade 12, providing education to children with Special Educational Needs.

Apart from the bench donation, Davenport Square also spent more than 67 minutes of their time treating the children to boerewors rolls, cake and cool drink provided by tenants including Dirks, Thompsons Security, African Bank, and Checkers. To add to the cheer of the day, renowned Durban graffiti artist, Ewok, created colourful murals on two of the benches to mark the celebration of Madiba's 100th birthday.
