Prima Toys launches LeapFrog’s LeapStart to the South African market

Leading toy and game importer and distributor Prima Toys has launched LeapFrog’s LeapStart Junior to the South African market. The LeapStart Junior is an interactive activity book system designed specifically for 2 to 4 year-olds. With a library of books across different learning levels, the LeapStart Junior helps children to learn, and develop an enjoyment for the learning process.

“LeapFrog is a well-established, well-respected educational toy brand and we are thrilled to be bringing the brand’s latest learning system to South African consumers,” says Chiquita Patrizi, spokesperson for Prima Toys.

“Over the past few years we have witnessed a demand for educational products, especially for preschoolers. Parents want to give their children the best in terms of education and with LeapFrog products education can certainly start at home, in a way that is fun and interactive for both parent and child,” continues Patrizi.

About the LeapStart

LeapStart is an interactive learning system jam-packed with school and life skills for curious 2-4 year olds. The LeapStart activity books are designed to help build key skills and challenge kids to get ready for their next step in learning. The system works with a library of re-playable activity books that get kids excited about concepts such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and social skills, reading comprehension and communication, phonics and problem solving, and lots more.

The LeapStart system

The LeapStart Preschool system comes with an ergonomically designed stylus for smaller hands and activities for Preschool children ages 2-4. Using the stylus, kids can tap any page to activate audio responses and play activities designed to keep them engaged and coming back for more. Each book in the library is packed with over 30 activities. Games, jokes and songs come to life, inviting kids to trace numbers, hunt for letters, compose their own music and more.

The LeapStart Library

There are four books in each learning level and together they teach over 50 key skills including ABCs, 123s, and beyond. From life skills and daily routines, to space science and coding, the LeapStart library supports core skills integrated with life skills, such as problem solving and critical thinking to help children prepare for the future.

Jody Sherman LeVos: Director of Learning at LeapFrog says, “Today’s parents realise that learning is more than just ABCs and 123s – it is also about life skills. That's why LeapFrog's focus is on 21st Century learning, a framework that includes the foundational classroom skills kids have always and will always need, as well as life skills they'll need in the future, such as the ability to adapt to changing technology, collaboration skills, and perseverance.

Through fun-filled activities and engaging adventures that progress one step at a time, the LeapStart interactive activity book system brings learning to life to provide children with the tools they'll need to thrive in tomorrow's world, concludes LeVos.

The LeapStart is available at leading toy stores and retailers for the recommended price of R1399.99
