Learning to lead internet projects to maximum success

Submitted by: Godfrey Parkin
{pp}Next week, on July 22-23, Britefire’s Web Project Management course, run by an award winning international emarketing project leader, will take place in Fourways, Johannesburg.

Project Managers who can successfully lead internet projects are in great demand, and anyone wishing to improve their skills in this booming career field should not miss this opportunity to benefit from the very latest thinking and experience in the US and UK.

The intensive two-day course in Web Project Management teaches:

  • the leadership and communication skills essential for web project success,
  • the professional principles and disciplines of Project Management, and
  • state-of-the-art methodologies for managing web development.

The course will be led by Karen Parkin, whose international project leadership record includes enterprise-level web projects for global organisations such as Intel, Marriott International, the BBC and Lockheed Martin, as well as many projects for tactical emarketing and ecommerce campaigns.

Karen Parkin said, “Eight out of ten internet projects fail to achieve their objectives, and they all fail before a line of code is written. Most often, that’s because web projects are not professionally defined or managed. Doing this stuff by the seat of your pants is no longer an acceptable methodology, especially as the disciplines and tools of Project Management are so robust and reliable. If you want to get things done right, on time and within budget, there is only one way to do it, and that’s within a project framework. The relevant skills are easily learned, as is their application in a web project environment.”

This practical and down to earth course will give participants up-to-date rigorous skills and knowledge, and is ideal for anyone who is planning to become certified in Project Management. All course participants will benefit from a wealth of indispensable real-world examples, exercises, as well as a disk of take-away tools and templates.

Previous participants in this course from organisations such as Standard Bank, Deloitte, and GCIS have raved about its scope, depth and practicality. The Web Project Management course will be run at Fourways near Johannesburg on Tuesday and Wednesday next week (July 22-23). The R5250 fee includes VAT, lunch, full documentation and take-away materials. Discounts are available for as few as two people from the same company.
