Inspired Testing Academy 2021 opens for admissions

Inspired Testing has opened applications for the 2021 Inspired Testing Academy training programme, which begins in March.

The company launched its technical mentorship programme – Automation for Functional Testers – in August last year, tailored for individuals wanting to upskill from manual testing to Test Automation.

Sastri Munsamy, Executive: Technology and Innovation, says the 2021 programme has been refined and consolidated down from 10 months to 5 months by doubling the number of weekly workshops, fast tacking the training and certification for participants.

“Our first programme has been a great success, and we hope to take what we’ve learned in running it, along with the feedback we received from last year’s participants, and offer an even better experience this year,” says Sastri.

“One of the questions I often get from functional testers is about how difficult the programme would be for them, having had no previous coding experience,” he says.

“The basic coding knowledge required to create the automated tests are taught during this programme and I’ve found that through practical script along sessions with our students, they’ve managed to grasp the basics. What’s unique about our programme is that they get to work with professionals from the same industry, and have 24/7 access to myself and other mentors with more than 17 years’ testing and training experience in the field, so the programme essentially becomes an extension of their everyday work.”

The Inspired Testing programme covers every aspect of Test Automation in detail, from knowing when, what and how to automate, to creating targeted Java scripts using the industry-standard open-source automation tool, Selenium, as the development environment. Participants will need to complete each phase before advancing to the next, thereby gaining all the required skills – both theoretically and practically.

Spaces are once again limited to 20 people per course, so anyone interested should reach out directly by emailing Sastri at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
