Computer Training for Underprivileged

Submitted by: Cllr Rick Crouch

DA Ward Councillor Rick Crouch will be conducting computer training for the underprivileged residents of Ward 10. The training will be conducted through his company Rick Crouch & Associates which has vast experience in computer training on an international level.

The training will be absolutely free to those underprivileged residents as all costs will be borne by Rick Crouch & Associates.

“There is a great need for this type of training, you cannot get any decent job without computer skills and the underprivileged are caught in a catch 22 situation where they do not have the skills to get a job that would enable them to pay for training to advance themselves. It will be the same training we offer to the general public it will begin with the very basics for the benefit of those that have never even seen a computer and gradually work up to training on the Microsoft Office Suite of products. The only difference is that the general public generally come to the training with their laptops and these folk do not have access to their own computers, so I am asking if any residents have any old computers that they no longer want and would like to donate them to this cause please contact me and I will arrange for them to be picked up. I have found that you can stand up there all day and lecture about computers but unless the students are actually able to do it the learning curve is huge. We are hoping to cater for everyone from young children to the elderly.” Said Rick Crouch.
