Originally launched in 2016, AVK Southern Africa’s training academy has now certified over 700 engineers, distributors and students in South Africa’s only ECSA-accredited valves training courses.

The two-day training courses consist of two Training Modules, the Valves Fundamentals Course and the Advanced Valves Course, which each contribute 2 CPD points, and is hosted at AVK Southern Africa’s purpose-built Academy in Alberton, Johannesburg.

The most holistic and intensive course of its kind in the country, it covers everything from valve testing; installation, operation and maintenance; and manufacturing methodology to applied theories of fluid pressure, fluid flow and field applications. The course material is applicable to the complete range of industries, from water and wastewater treatment and distribution to mining, power generation and oil and gas.

The Academy includes a wide variety of sample valves, as well as an innovative flow lab that provides a hands-on demonstration of valve performance in a water circuit.

Training can also be conducted at customers’ premises, and has been conducted as far north as Zambia.
