DLK Brings Network Management Muscle to SME Arena

Submitted by: Marian Shinn
{pp}DLK Group has launched a new division to focus on the information technology infrastructure needs of small to medium-sized enterprises. It will be managed by Ricardo Williams, who has been instrumental in structuring integrated network solutions for DLK’s clients in provincial and local government.

DLK CEO Leon Hendricks says the division will focus on becoming the networking outsourcing solution provider of choice for small enterprise networks.

“Technology has evolved to such a degree that it is now cost-effective for smaller firms to outsource their network implementation and management to specialist firms, such as ours.

“Previously, it was too expensive for these firms to manage their own networks, and the technology was not available for service providers to do it remotely at a price the firms could afford.”

As DLK is a Dell Enterprise Partner, its networking solutions are based on leading-edge, energy efficient hardware components.

Hendricks says that DLK’s experience in the challenging geographically dispersed government space “convinced us that infrastructure solutions based on Dell’s technology are robust enough to implement in smaller environments that cannot afford in-house maintenance”.

Small and medium-sized firms are battling to keep their infrastructure management and bandwidth costs down, without compromising on efficiency and security.

“As outsiders we bring rigour to the process, working to strict service level agreements that stipulate cost efficiencies and better bandwidth performance. The aim should be to manage costs downward

“Effective network management outsourcing should bring down costs,” he adds, “by putting processes in place to manage network usage and by standardising and streamlining the infrastructure to facilitate remote network performance monitoring and management.”
